Administrative pressures on special education teachers in the Sultanate of Oman

Abstract

ملخص البحث 

تهدف الدراسة إلى التعرف على الضغوط الإدارية لدى معلمي التربية الخاصة بسلطنة عمان، والتعرف على طبيعة السمات الشخصية التي يتصف بها معلمو التربية الخاصة بسلطنة عمان، والتعرف على تأثير الضغوط الإدارية على مستوى الاحتراق النفسي لدى معلمي التربية الخاصة بسلطنة عمان،  وللتحقق من أهداف الدراسة والاجابة على أسئلتها فقد انتهجت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي الارتباطي، وقد كشفت نتائج الدراسة أن مستوى الاحتراق النفسي مرتفعا لدى معلمي التربية الخاصة العاملين بمدارس التربية الخاصة، حيث كان مستوى الإجهاد الانفعالي معتدلا، ومستوى تبلد المشاعر وتدني الشعور بالإنجاز الشخصي مرتفعين. وأوصت الدراسة بالاهتمام بالنمو المهني لمعلمي التربية الخاصة من خلال إقامة دورات وندوات للتدريب على استراتيجيات إدارة الضغوط لدي معلمات ومعلمي التربية الخاصة.

ABSTRACT

            This study aims to explore the administrative stress experienced by special education teachers in the Sultanate of Oman, to identify the personality traits that characterize these teachers, and to examine the impact of administrative stress on the level of burnout among them. To achieve the study’s objectives and answer its questions, a descriptive correlational methodology was employed. The results revealed that the level of burnout among special education teachers working in special education schools was high, with moderate levels of emotional exhaustion, and high levels of depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment. The study recommended paying greater attention to the professional development of special education teachers by organizing training workshops and seminars on stress management strategies specifically tailored to the needs of these educators.
